Civil Engineer
Maybin is an experienced Civil Engineer with over 20 years in the WASH sector, currently the Regional WASH Program Director for East Africa. Based in Kigali, Rwanda, he oversees programs in 9 countries. His previous roles include WASH Technical Advisor at World Vision Rwanda and various positions in World Vision Zambia, including WASH Specialist and Technical Program Manager. His career highlight was leading the $50 million “Finish the Job” campaign, significantly advancing WASH initiatives in the region.

Passionate about inclusive WASH, Maybin emphasises gender equality, social inclusion, menstrual hygiene management, and WASH in healthcare. He believes empowering youth is crucial for sustainable development, engaging young leaders in WASH programs to encourage innovation and local solutions. By providing mentorship and training, he helps youth build vital skills and fosters leadership among them.
Recognised for his commitment to mentoring women in leadership, Maybin was honoured as a Dornsife Scholar by Drexel University. He holds an International Master’s in Water Resources Management from UNESCO-IHE and a Postgraduate Certificate in International WASH from the Desert Research Institute.
Outside of work, Maybin enjoys running marathons and cycling. He looks forward to applying his expertise to contribute to Yatilink’s vision for an empowered and healthier orphaned youth in Zambia.
