Meet the advisory board: Gabriel Lungu

Mental Health Officer and Nurse.

Mr. Gabriel Lungu is a Mental Health Officer at the Ministry of Health and a qualified Nursing Officer and Psychiatric Nurse. He serves as a Tutor, Mentor, and Mental Health Advocate, and is a De-addiction Champion and Counsellor. Gabriel is on the Advisory Panel for the Global Alliance for Mental Advocates (GAMHA) and the Advisory Committee for the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) – African Region.

He holds a master’s degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing and a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences from UNZA, along with a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing. His professional development includes certificates in Mental Health Leadership and Management and the International Public Health Management Development Program.

Gabriel founded Xminds Solutions Zambia (XMSZ) to improve mental health service accessibility and the Lungu Gabriel Foundation to support the aged and vulnerable children. With 15 years of experience, he is a passionate advocate for mental health, a dedicated community mobilizer and a firm believer in self-determination and assertiveness to achieve personal and organizational goals.
