Meet the advisory board: Bupe Mwamba

Senior Lecturer. Midwife Specialist and Neonatal Nurse.

Bupe has worked in various roles and organisations across Australia, South Africa, and Zambia. She has over 19 years of experience in multiple departments, including Management, Administration, Research, and Neonatal and Maternity Care. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Midwifery, a 2nd Year Student Advisor, a Member of the Midwifery Advisory Group, the National Coordinator, and a Tutor in Research for Practice within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Midwifery and Health Sciences at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney Campus.

She holds a PhD in Midwifery from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Master of Philosophy in Maternal and Child Health (MPhil MCH) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, a sub-speciality of Public Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Nursing Advanced Practice Program in Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, along with an Advanced Diploma in Midwifery and a Diploma in Nursing, both obtained in Zambia.

Bupe is a passionate advocate for mothers, babies, and children. She is a co-founder of Newborn Support Zambia, an organisation that has been leading efforts to enhance the quality of neonatal care in Zambia. She looks forward to bringing her passion and experience in advocating for quality care of mothers, neonates, and children to contribute to the empowerment of orphaned youths in Zambia through Yatilink.
